Inserting the battery

Before we learn how to insert the battery correctly into your hearing aid, it is important to confirm you are using the correct size of batteries. The battery size for your hearing aid is 312 (brown color).

Inside your hearing-aids kit, you will find a new package of size 312 batteries.

Take one new battery and remove the brown-colored tab from the flat, (+) positive side of the battery. Wait about one minute for the battery to reach full power before using it.

Open the battery door gently, using your fingernail or thumbnail.

Locate the (+) symbol on the inside top rim of the battery door. This indicates that the flat, positive side of the battery should face up in the same direction as the (+) symbol.

Place the battery in the battery door. Do not place the battery directly inside the hearing aid. Fit the battery in the battery door with the flat, positive (+) side facing up.

Close the battery door. Never force the battery door closed. If the battery door does not close easily, then the battery is probably upside down.

When the battery is no longer strong enough to power your hearing aid, you will hear a voice prompt say “low battery, " which will repeat every 8 minutes. Your hearing aid will shut down after you hear a voice prompt saying, “replace battery.”
