Talking on the phone with your new hearing aids

Usually, when talking on the phone we tend to place the speaker socket of our phone close to the opening of our outer ear canal. That makes sense. However, in your new hearing aids the microphones that collect the sounds are located behind your pinna. Therefore, if you do not hear loud enough while talking on the phone, try moving the phone slightly upwards, next to the microphones of the hearing aid.

If this does not help, try increasing the volume of your hearing aid manually using our app or the volume control on your hearing aid.

Sometimes bringing the phone closer to the hearing aid creates acoustic feedback  (whistling). In this case, we recommend using our virtual assistant to help you find the best solution. Just type in the chat box: “My hearing aid whistles during a phone conversation,” and our virtual assistant will give you all the information you need to avoid feedback.
