Get to know your new hearing aid

Let’s take a look at your new hearing aid. Your hearing aid consists of two main parts: the hearing aid itself, which includes all the electronic components, and the tube that transfers the amplified sound into your ear canal.

The tube can be disconnected from the hearing aid by slightly rotating the thicker base of the tube 90 degrees to the left or right and pulling it away from the device.

Now you can see that the tube is attached to a small metal pipe - this is the receiver nub (No. 1 in the illustration below)

There are also two tiny ports: one just above the receiver nub and another on top of the hearing aid. These are the two microphones of the hearing aid. (No. 2 in the illustration above).

On top of the hearing aid is a program button for switching between different hearing programs. Every press will move you to the next program, and you will hear a voice indicating the number and the name of the program you moved to.

A volume control also allows you to adjust the volume of the hearing aid according to your personal needs. By pressing the upper part of the volume control, you will increase the volume, and by pressing the lower part of the volume control, you will decrease the volume.

At the bottom of the hearing aid is a battery door in which the battery is located (No. 5 in the illustration below). With a battery installed, open the battery door just halfway to turn off the hearing aid and close the battery door to turn it on.

Do not forget to turn off your hearing aid and keep it in its special case during the night-time or whenever you are not using it.
