What exactly is a hearing aid?

A hearing aid is a small electronic device designed to compensate for the elevated hearing thresholds of a person with hearing loss. It includes three main parts: a microphone that picks up the sounds around you and converts them into an electrical signal, a processor that amplifies the sound to a precise intensity according to your hearing thresholds, and a speaker that delivers the amplified sound into your ear.

There are various styles and sizes of hearing aids on the market. In the case of your hearing aids, all the electronic components are placed behind your ear, and the amplified sound is delivered to your ear through a thin tube. Of course, a battery also serves as a power supply and needs to be replaced every few days.
