How to insert the retention lock into the ear?

The retention lock is the tail connected to the end of your hearing aid slim tube and loops around the bowl of your ear, also called concha.

It assists with keeping the hearing aid secure in your ear. 

So that you know, the new retention locks are straight. After a few days of consistent use of the hearing aid, the retention lock learns the shape of your ear and begins to take the form of a 'U.'

To position the retention lock in your ear, follow the following steps:

1) Place the hearing aid behind your ear and insert the dome into your ear canal. You may find that the retention lock interferes with your ability to fully insert the dome into your ear canal.

2) Grasp the end of the retention lock with your thumb and index finger and gently insert it into your concha.

3) Once the retention lock is in your concha, continue to insert the hearing aid tube and dome fully into your ear canal.
